‘You can see the world without seeing the world. There’s a 4ft tall older woman who sits on the doorstep every day. She doesn’t move, but the world moves around her. She sees the daily path of the ants, with their breadcrumb trophies. She sees the spirits on the level above, and hers too. She hears the richness of space and silence. She sees movement in stillness. She sees every colour in every leaf. She sees the wind, and its changes. She sees the clouds and she sees the seasons. The seasons change.
And there’s the man on the plane. Endless Aisles and miles. Collecting stamps. Living an un-season-ed life where it’s never winter. Everything changes but the seasons. Unseasoned, but chasing the new-age spice trail. He has the spice, but no slow grown homegrown potato’s or rice to put it on. He doesn’t see the birds come and go. They are there, but without their patterns and movements. There are there in beauty, but they don’t make sense. They aren’t seen in relation to the world around them. They aren’t seen as themselves. His eyes are sore and his mind confused.
The slower you go the more you see. Ground in the gratitude of what’s here, right now.’

…For the static wanderers. Writing this after slowing down, watching waves and watching flowers as the antidote to a patch of lostness.
